AR / Collection Specialist

Description

Collections of Accounts Receivable and Customer Deductions in accordance to company’s credit collection criteria and standards. Process new accounts for all Birkenstock Brands, reconcile deductions and perform cash applications, AR adjustments as required.

Essential Functions

  • Collections and follow-up of past due invoices and unauthorized deductions for assigned customers to ensure collectability of receivables. Identify collection issues and review with Senior Analyst or Manager.
  • Contact customers for support documentation on unidentified deductions; research and work with appropriate departments to identify and reconcile open deductions.
  • Work with Sales Support to manually pre-authorize credit card orders; review daily invoices and manually charge invoices with credit card terms.
  • Process new account packets for all brands. Run credit reports, send bank and trade references, and conduct follow-ups with references. Refer to Credit Analysts for credit approval decision.
  • Perform cash application of payments received in multiple systems and assist with AR adjustments. Ensure payments are accurately applied to accounts.
  • Assist with customer data updates in multiple systems, including the daily AR upload.
  • Assist with the download of weekly and monthly AR aging reports.
  • Consolidate and file cash batch folders at month-end
  • Make bank deposits for cash receipts as required.
  • Cross training of credit, collections, and cash application functions in multiple systems as appropriate.
  • Participate in the Credit/AR system conversion (SAP, Great Plains, ABS).
  • Manage customer’s legal files, including credit report update.
  • Perform other projects as required.

Position Requirements/Qualifications

  • 2 years credit/collections experience, 1 year of AR cash application and reconciliation
  • Computer skills/ software: proficiency in Excel and Word and integrated AR systems, preferably ABS and Great Plains Software
  • Some knowledge of accounting and credit policies, with strong integrated AR systems and procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough desire for continuous improvement

Field Service Representative – 2 positions

  • Northwest Region
  • Upper Midwest Region

Description

Responsible for representation and sales support for Birkenstock, Footprints, Tatami, and Birko Orthopädie brand products in an assigned territory. Provide excellent customer service to account base through regular visits to educate about products, present promotions, and assist with visual merchandising of respective brands.

Essential Functions

  • Support sales effort across all levels including sell-through at retail, educating retailers and consumers about product line’s features and benefits through clinics and promotions, and work with Territory Managers to identify sales opportunities.
  • Provide excellent service through the development, delivery, and assessment of clinics and trunk shows. Educate retailers and consumers regarding Birkenstock product and philosophy. Consistently communicate with accounts.
  • Merchandise product according to Birkenstock and defined high merchandising standards, and educate retailers on same. Advise accounts on their marketing needs and advertising opportunities. Count inventory and take fill-in orders at retail locations.
  • Partner with internal departments to communicate customer needs and issues. Provide Birkenstock with field information regarding customer feedback, trends, competitors, marketing, and any other relevant information.
  • Represent Birkenstock at trade shows. Help set-up and breakdown trade shows.
  • Manage expenses within allocated budget. Travel territory in most effective, cost efficient way.
  • Demonstrate leadership as appropriate to the position.
  • Perform duties according to Birkenstock's health and safety standards. Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements/Qualifications

  • 2 years presentations/public speaking/stand-up training experience; 2 years wholesale/retail apparel or footwear experience preferred.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Knowledge of shoe industry and retail business.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the work time, valid driver’s license/ acceptable driving history.
  • Strong merchandising, public speaking, and customer service skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
