Today, Birkenstock of San Diego Stores represent one of the oldest and largest chains of Birkenstock Stores on the West Coast, but it wasn't always that way.

A little over 32 years ago, owner Robert Younger was a struggling college student selling Birkenstocks out of a little shop, no bigger than a closet, while attending San Diego State University. Slowly but surely, customers started to fill the store as word-of-mouth began to spread about the shop that was selling these wonderful comfort sandals from Germany.

Through the years, Birkenstock of San Diego Stores have grown from that one small shop in a college town, to a specialty store family, five stores strong, covering the entire San Diego Area and out to Palm Springs.

Birkenstock of San Diego Stores have always placed a premium on customer service. We understand that our loyal customers are the reason we're still around after all these years, and we are committed to providing them with top-notch customer service.

Rob says, "If we are currently out of the style/color/size you are looking for, we'll gladly call around to our sister stores to see if they have it in. Don't want to make the trip to another location? We'll do it for you, and give you a call when it comes into your store of choice. Just here for a visit and don't have time to wait? No problem. We'll place your order and when it comes in, we'll ship it to you, anywhere in the United States - at no charge!"
