Silver Gizehs are the perfect road trip sandal. Of course we would also argue that any Birkenstock footwear product would make the perfect road trip companion. And thus the work-week begins today, Monday, so we’re settling in, buckling up, and ready to take the voyage with a smile on our faces caused by the shoes on our feet.
What’s your favorite pair of Birkenstock footwear for the long haul? Trusty old gems or a shiny new pair for that added boost of confidence?

Have a great weekend, everyone! We hope you get to rest those weary dogs. Just make sure you get from place to place in the most comfortable footwear you own. (Ahem, ours!)

I have a confession to make. This photo has been sitting in the Birkenstock 365 flickr pool since its’ inception, just waiting to be featured. Perhaps I was saving it for a special occasion, perhaps I just didn’t want to let it go. What you should know is, this is my favorite Birkenstock photo of all time. For so many reasons this picture brightens my day every time I look at it. There’s so much going on, the colors are fantastic, sun, flowers, you name it.
Be free, wonderful picture. Let the masses appreciate you as much as I do. [Single tear]

With the approaching good weather will come more opportunities to get out into the wild. It seems this pair of Kairos has already put some time in, seen here relaxing on a tent’s footprint. Birkenstock footwear make for a fantastic casual hiking shoe and, additionally, a wonderful relax-by-the-fire shoe. Either way, your feet are going to be comfortable.

Have a look at this very nice self-portrait in a pair of Black Birko-Flor Gizehs. You know what else is nice about this photograph? That’s sun on the ground right there, ladies and gentlemen. February has arrived which means Spring is near and, thus, the season for sandals is upon us. While we may have a few days of rain, even snow, left before the Lilies bloom it’s not necessarily time to put away those Bostons. However, the time is right to break out some sandals and get them ready for long walks on the beach, or whatever it is you wonderful people enjoy doing in your Birkenstock footwear.
Break in a fresh pair, dig the oldies-but-goodies out from the back of the closet. Whatever you do, add a little spring in your step this Spring walking on the Birkenstock footbed.

Guys, there are really no words for how incredible this picture this made me feel this morning. If you’re unaware of what’s happening here, the good people at Mountain Soles up in Portland have modified this pair of Arizonas to be used as a cycling shoe. That metal piece on the bottom of the shoe clips into a specific kind of bicycle pedal that keeps the riders’ feet attached to the bicycle and makes riding more efficient, and more fun in my opinion. Birkenstock Arizona SPDs, who would have thought?
While we can’t endorse this kind of modification for everyone to try we can certainly admit to this being the most creative adaptation we’ve seen in quite some time.
Mark this one as being in our top 5 favorite photos this year. Have any neat pictures you’d like to share? Add them to the flickr pool here.

What we have here, ladies and gents, is a fantastic photo of a pair of Mocha Gizehs. This photo highlights the uniqueness of the thong design. While we don’t have it on our website for sale there is also a very similar mens version, the Ramses which should be available at your local retailer. Go ahead and plug in your zip code to the retailer locator to find the pair nearest you.
Have a great weekend!

We’ll be the first to admit that Birkenstock footwear probably isn’t the best choice if you plan on tearing up the streets on a skateboard. THEY ARE, however, the absolute best choice for your pre and post skate sessions. From experience I recommend the Boston Soft Footbed, seen here next to the skateboard. Shall we call them après skate shoes? Sounds good to us.
Your feet take a beating participating in activities like skateboarding, hiking, running, skiing etc. Why not treat them to the natural massage they deserve with the Birkenstock footbed at the end of the day?

I believe this is our first featured photo from Alaska? I might be wrong on that one. Bonus points if you prove otherwise. Anyhow, check out this sweet pair of Arizonas on the beach in Kodiak, AK. What we can deduce from this photograph:
1. Must have been taken during the sunlit days of the summer months
2. No Kodiak bears on the scene, yet
3. Actually, probably no Kodiak bears made the scene considering the snapshot made it from the camera to the mighty interwebs
4. Birkenstock footwear looks awesome everywhere
5. I guess that’s all and thank you for reading

All this talk about the weather has got us yearning for days like this. When you get to roll up your pant legs and head to the nearest beach or swimming hole for that first dip of the year. And while these days are just weeks away it’s never too late to start breaking in that brand new pair of Madrids around the house. Did we mention how inexpensive these shoes are at under $50? Yes, I believe we did but it’s worth mentioning again. THESE ARE UNDER $50!
Unparalleled comfort at a reasonable price is pretty unbeatable.
