Oh, right. It’s still Summer on the Gold Coast of Australia. YOU LUCKY DOGS! I mean, your feet are the lucky dogs because you got to walk to the beach in pairs of Gizehs and Milanos. Our good weather seems to be holding out on us for a while isn’t it, fellow Americans? That first 70 degree day will be glorious and we’re counting on you all to make us an integral part of each and every one of those days in the coming months.

Seems this pigeon made a home out of a pair of Birkenstock sandals! Appropriately, the person responsible for taking this lovely picture named the youngins Birk and Stock. While this photo is as adorable as it gets, wearing those sandals once those babies flee the nest will be less than adorable.

This photo just makes for a great day. These Gizehs always look this good, but next to a bicycle? Even better. This picture was snapped in The Netherlands, a place famous for its cycling culture.

I wonder if that gent at Mountain Soles in Portland would be willing to fashion me a pair of those Birkenstock bicycling shoes? Could make for a fun 25 mile ride to work someday soon…

Dare we say that our footwear is so Earth-friendly that the birds know not the difference between an Arizona sandal and a tree branch? I don’t think that’s a stretch, and this little guy looks happy. Or hungry.

Anyone out there know what kind of bird this is?

We love looking at the outfits people piece together to compliment their favorite pair of Birkenstock footwear. These Kairos are seen here with an outfit (and a bicycle) that could have passed for the norm around the time The Beatles tune ‘Here Comes the Sun” came out in 1969. Heck, the Kairos would have passed back then as well!

It’s nice to have some sun returning to the greater Bay Area this week, though who are we to complain about weather!? For those of you who are still experiencing the angry side of Mother Nature we’ll do our best to feature happy, sunshine laden photos to brighten your day. We do what we can.

Here’s a neat little triad of photographs to help you get through Tuesday. Today is Mardi Gras which usually makes for an entertaining Tuesday once per year. Thus, we thought this photo made for a nice match for today’s celebrations. Fittingly enough, these photos were snapped in Cannes, France. A place that, undoubtedly, has a raucous Mardi Gras celebration.

We hope whomever snapped this series of photographs is wearing their Birkenstock sandals today and has a wonderful Mardi Gras. In fact, we wish that for all of your loyal readers as well.

In reality these Arizonas were snapped on the dock of the Otonabee River, near Ontario, Canada. What we’re looking at is a reflection in the water. This is a pretty incredible photograph and we’re happy to have it in our Birkenstock 365 Flickr Pool.
