This month has been a little more like wet than we’d like it around here but with each cloud comes a silver lining. The rain will prove a vital resource for all your summer crops. Plant those tomatoes now! These Birkenstock Florida sandals should make for a nice accent to your garden this summer. They can be all yours for less than $70. While we might not suggest wearing your favorite pair of Birkenstock Gizeh sandals out into the snow we most definitely would recommend that you wear them to the hot tub and back. Which is likely what’s happened here. A trip outside at a Mountainous resort, ditching the sandals for a romp in the snow just before a dunk in the hot tub or warm springs. Sounds like a comfy weekend, sign me up.

Dress: check. Pedicure: check. Seasonal Gizeh sandals: check. All is well and right in the world for this lucky lady. Have you noticed that Birkenstock rolls out fresh colors and silhouettes every season? While the Gizeh is a classic style and a mainstay in colors like Black, Mocha, and Black Patent its’ colors are also being reinvented with just about every solstice. Be forewarned that Spring 2011 is looking like a dandy.

We had a great day on Monday at the MORE® Magazine Reinvention Convention held for the first time in Chicago, IL at the historic Navy Pier. We were there with our wonderful friends from Complete Birkenstock. The MORE® Magazine Reinvention Convention is an opportunity for women “of a certain age” to come together to renew, recharge, and re-imagine ways to change their lives.

Emcee and all round fun gal Lee Woodruff, among other things, spoke about how the sudden injury to her husband, ABC news anchor Bob Woodruff, forced change on her family and how they’ve managed to heal, adapt, and overcome some of life’s greatest obstacles. Here’s an article Lee wrote for our friends at MORE® describing how she overcame the fear of letting go, more that once.

Like most of the women, Lee ditched her “cruel shoes” early in the day for a pair of comfy Birkenstock sandals. Lee chose the Mayari in the color of the season Twilight Blue. Here she is with our Director of Product Development Shelly Glasgow. Thanks Lee for letting us take this fun picture. Here’s to no more “cruel shoes!”

Together with her husband Bob Woodruff they founded the Bob Woodruff Foundation and Remind.org to assist wounded service men, women and families receive the long-term care they need and help them successfully reintegrate into their communities.

How are you reinventing yourself today?

Gizeh sandals go with just about everything. Classy to casual and available at relatively inexpensive prices at your local retailers. Friday is upon us, this woman went casual for work and states on Flickr that the outfit will carry her through the day and the evening for dinner and drinks with friends. We’d like to think it’s the sandals that will carry her through, though the outfit is indeed very multi-purpose.

Time for a breather? Thursday is upon us, the weekend is right around the corner! It’s lunch time around here at the Birkenstock HQ. We’re doing our best to imitate this photograph, sitting on benches in our Arizona sandals. Though the weather is just about perfect so we might have to take our rendition outside for a while.

Growing up, we used to call socks with holes in them or whose elastic had given out ‘quitters.’ I just couldn’t bring myself to put quitters in the title of this photograph because 1) it’s a really fantastic photo, 2) we simply can’t have any quitters on team Birkenstock and 3) its pretty well known that Birkenstock sandals (even when weathered and worn) can be brought right back to life with a little love from a cobbler. Additionally, it feels pretty neat to be able to use the word cobbler at work.

Wear your socks with your Birkenstock sandals. Heck, even wear your quitters with your Birkenstock sandals, we don’t mind. These Arizonas will most definitely outlast even your thickest, best socks.

Even the characters from Pixar movies want Birkenstock Madrids on their feet. Look at these guys, they might as well be drooling on themselves. 2 out of 3 eyes are fixated on these Black Birko Flor Madrid sandals. Hey, can you blame them? These dudes look like they spend a considerable amount of time on their feet. The Birkenstock footbed oughta suit them well. Good luck, buster, this woman looks like she’s not coming off of these sandals any time soon.
