Hello again, Birkenstock fans.
Remember last week when we mentioned the things we do around the office to minimize our carbon footprint? Well, I’ve been snapping a picture or two lately so we can share some of them with you here on the Birkenstock blog.
Earlier this week we had these gents come by and collect e-waste from the entire business park. Old TVs, computers, monitors, just about anything electronic was acceptable.
We spread the word around the local businesses and thankfully we had a splendid turnout. Rumor has it people were flagging the e-waste guys down on their way out of the parking lot and cramming the already stuffed vehicle with even more donations.
All of the material collected by the gentlemen at Renew Computers is firstly combed for parts used to repair or rebuild other computers. What remains is recycled accordingly. We were happy to contribute.
Up next we’ve got a clothing drive to benefit Image for Success and a shoe drive to benefit our good friends at Soles4Souls. All happening next week!
I’m looking forward to these, spring cleaning means donating no less than 10 pair of shoes and a slew of old clothes that might be appreciated by someone who really needs them.
