You may remember that the Soles4Souls RV stopped by our offices a few weeks back to pick up donations of gently worn shoes. We had a fine time checking out their state-of-the-art RV and chatting with Alan, the Soles4Souls ‘ambassador’.
This Saturday April 10, the RV will be visiting Aarons Birkenstock & Shoe Repair in St Peters, MO from 8am until 1pm to pick up any gently worn shoes or donations for Soles4Souls.
If you can make it out there with a donation, your help will be much appreciated! You can find more details on Aaron’s website..
And if you do go, please tell us how it was! You can comment here on the blog, send us a picture on Facebook, or drop us a Tweet on Twitter.

Welcome to the final day of the artist profiles. If you’re just joining us, we’ve been featuring the ReadyMade selected artists who so generously modified pairs of Birkenstock sandals and clogs and donated them to us to auction off in support of Soles4Souls. The auction begins TODAY!
Vahalla Studios worked diligently on this pair of Arizonas. Vahalla Studios is an artist collective based in Kansas City. In their new space they operate as a design studio, gallery, and print shop. The two gents behind Vahalla Studios are Tad Carpenter and Dan Padavic. You can see an example of a screen printed show poster below and the pair of Arizonas they crafted below that.

The shoes from the auction will be on display at South by Southwest (SXSW) this Saturday, March 20th at The Palm Door from Noon-5pm if you happen to be in Austin, TX!

Hellooooooo! Here we are on the penultimate day of featuring the ReadyMade selected artists who donated their pair of custom Birkenstock sandals and clogs to the auction we’re hosting on Facebook to benefit Soles4Souls.
Aaron Meshon is an illustrator and painter who calls New York City his home. His aspirations include “sell(ing) his products from a mobile sweet potato truck in urban Japan.” Aaron is a well recognized entity in the illustration world and his work has been featured in countless illustration journals and has earned him international accolades. Please have a look at one of Aaron’s illustrations below and the pair of Bostons he modified for us just under the illustration.

Welcome back to our second artist profile. We’ll be posting one of these per day this week. All of the artists featured were selected by ReadyMade to contribute to the auction we’re hosting on Facebook to support Soles4Souls.
ALO is actually a musical act who happened to hand craft a custom pair of Bostons for our auction. Their most recent record was produced by longtime friend and fellow recording artist, Jack Johnson for Brushfire Records. From the band’s presskit:
“The singer/songwriter/producer was a natural fit with ALO. “It felt like he joined the band for the album,” drummer Dave Brogan admits. “He was very hands on. If he thought he could add something to a track, he was willing to go for it. And we were more than happy to let him.” Johnson brought a new element to the group’s creative process. “In a really great way, Jack shook things up for us,” guitarist Lebo adds. “Most of us in the band have been playing together since we were 13 and we’ve fallen into patterns. Jack got us to rethink how we do things.”
Check out a photo of the band and the pair of Bostons they worked on below.

Hey all. This week we’ll be featuring brief artist profiles about each of the ReadyMade artists that contributed to the auction we’re hosting on Facebook to support Soles4Souls.
Today we bring you JunkPrints. JunkPrints is the brain child of Chanel Kennebrew and is operated out of Brooklyn, New York. She’s got a seemingly endless wealth of inspiration and tackles apparel, graphic design, photography and even jewelery and bags projects. Below you’ll see an example of some of JunkPrints commercial work in addition to the wonderful pair of Gizehs she transformed for the auction which begins this Friday, March 19th.

Be sure to place a bid on these Gizehs when the auction opens up for them.

This Friday (March 5) we’ll be welcoming Soles4Souls to our offices as they stop by to visit and pick up some donated shoes in their traveling RV.
Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. The charity distributes these shoes free of charge to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 7 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently donating one pair every 9 seconds.) The shoes have been distributed to people in over 125 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States.
We regularly hold “recycle your shoes” events to aid Soles4Souls, and this week we’re encouraging all our employees to bring in gently worn shoes for donation.
And we’ll post pictures of the event on Friday!
You can find out more information on Soles4Souls on their website and follow their roving RV across the country on their blog.
